When you claim a reward we may collect payment-related information which is securely handled by our third-party payment processors. All data is collected lawfully and transparently with your consent.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate and improve the SoundDrop platform, verify US residency, enforce our 2-entry-per-day rule, and process prize payouts. Your data helps us analyze quiz performance, detect cheating or suspicious activity, and improve user experience. We also use it to serve relevant advertisements via Google AdSense which helps keep SoundDrop 100% free to play. If you opt in we may send you email updates about new features, winners, and special promotions. You can unsubscribe at any time. We never use your data for purposes beyond what is described in this policy.
3. Google AdSense & Third-Party Advertising
Required DisclosureWe use Google AdSense to display advertisements on SoundDrop. Google as a third-party vendor uses cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site and other websites. 4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use both temporary session cookies and persistent cookies. Session cookies help maintain your quiz state during gameplay. Persistent cookies help us recognize returning users and preserve preferences. We also use Google Analytics cookies to understand site performance and user behavior. Advertising cookies from Google AdSense help deliver relevant ads. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect certain features of SoundDrop.
5. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with trusted third parties who help us operate our platform including Google for AdSense and Analytics, payment processors such as PayPal and Venmo for winner payouts, and hosting providers. These third parties only receive the data necessary to perform their services and are contractually obligated to keep your information secure. 6. Data Retention
We retain IP address logs for up to 30 days for fraud prevention. Email addresses are stored until you unsubscribe or request deletion. Winner claim and payment data are retained for 12 months to comply with legal and financial obligations. After retention periods expire data is securely deleted or anonymized.
7. Your Rights (CCPA & US Users)
If you are a US resident you have the right to know what personal data we collect, request a copy of it, request corrections, or request deletion of your data. You also have the right to opt out of the sale of your data — we do not sell your data. To exercise any of these rights contact us via our Contact page. We will respond within 45 days as required by law.
8. Children's Privacy
SoundDrop is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor we will immediately delete it. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided us with personal information should contact us immediately via our Contact page.
9. Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data including HTTPS encryption, secure servers, IP address hashing, and automatic session expiration. We do not store raw audio files on your device. However no system is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information. We encourage you to use strong unique passwords and to contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
10. Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do we will post the updated version on this page and update the Last Updated date above. For significant changes we will display a banner notification on the site. Continued use of SoundDrop after changes means you accept the updated policy.
